I have never been very good with words, but put a brush or pencil in my hand and I will "talk" up a storm! My artwork is the outlet for my imagination, emotion, feelings and moods. I love to go into the world on the canvas and 'be there' so completely that it is as real as this one.
I have been very blessed to live in the country most of my life surrounded but Nature and Wildlife. Wildlife is exactly that - wild and free - they make no excuses for who or what they are or the actions they take to ensure their survival. I admire their power and elegance as well as their honesty and freedom. Painting wildlife has trained me in attention to detail as well as contrast between dark and light.
By doing commission work for over twenty years I was challenged to paint many different subjects in a variety of ways and at the same time explore the desire inside me to continue those subjects. People fascinate me and wildlife excites me. I come up a bit short on Landscapes but the world of Fantasy has the ability to consume me. Fairies and dragons have lived in my mind from birth. I have longed to give them life for years and finally feel my painting abilities have matured to the level that I can begin to do them justice. They will evolve as my imagination allows them to be more free - breaking from reality more and more - but they can finally begin to express themselves on my canvas as they have longed to do for years.
